Elon Musk unveils ‘Grokipedia,’ an AI-powered rival to Wikipedia
xAI is preparing to launch Grokipedia, an artificial intelligence driven platform designed to rival Wikipedia

Elon Musk is taking aim at one of the internet’s oldest knowledge hubs. The tech billionaire announced that his company xAI is preparing to launch Grokipedia, an artificial intelligence–driven platform designed to rival Wikipedia.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Musk revealed that a beta version of the new site will debut within two weeks.
Built on xAI’s conversational model Grok, Grokipedia aims to be “a major improvement over Wikipedia,” Musk said.
The platform will reportedly analyse information from open sources, detect factual errors or missing context, and automatically correct inaccuracies.
Musk described it as “the largest and most accurate knowledge base for people and AI without biases or hidden motives.”
Developers explained that Grokipedia will use AI to eliminate misleading or incomplete data often found in online sources.
It will rewrite articles with what Musk calls “full and precise context,” cutting through misinformation and “junk noise” common in traditional media.
According to xAI, the platform will not only serve as a knowledge base for humans, but also as a training resource for AI systems, emphasising data transparency and reliability.
However, experts note that achieving such a goal will be challenging.
They argue that for Grokipedia to gain credibility, it must ensure transparent algorithms, open-source verification, and clear content moderation policies to prevent bias.
