Kate Middleton to miss Earthshot Prize ceremony third year running: Here’s why
Kate Middleton will not accompany Prince William when he travels to Brazil next month

Kate Middleton will not be bringing her trademark glamour to this year’s Earthshot Prize ceremony for a third successive year.
While her imminent absence has not yet been confirmed by Kensington Palace, nor has the Princess of Wales spoken about it herself, it is understood that the decision has been made in view of her obligations as a parent.
Since Prince William will be travelling to the ceremony, to be held in Rio de Janeiro on November 5, his wife would sit out the festivities to manage their three young children — George, Charlotte, and Louis — during their ongoing educational term.
Per the Daily Express, “As the event is during the school term, it is believed the couple like to make sure at least one of them is at home with the children”, to equally divide and handle “school drop offs and pick ups, as well as general parenting duties.”
Notably, Princess Kate’s last appearance at the awards, founded by her husband, was in 2022, where she dazzled the green carpet in a matching off-the-shoulder gown from Solace London.
Meanwhile, it was believed that Kate Middleton missed last year’s gala due to being in remission and dealing with the after effects of her cancer treatment.
Prince William attended the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town solo, where he had affirmed, “My children would love to be here, so would Catherine.”
