King Charles and Prince William have reportedly sent “shockwaves through the palace” following the Prince of Wales’s revealing interview with actor Eugene Levy, sparking fresh concerns over royal unity.
According to royal expert Rob Shuter, writing for his ShuterScoop Substack, the interview, which Prince William described as a “personal reflection” has not been well received by the King’s inner circle.
The remarks were reportedly viewed within Buckingham Palace as a calculated political move, rather than a casual conversation.
“For now, father and son are not speaking — sending shockwaves through the palace,” Shuter claimed, adding that a possible “PR peace walk” has been suggested to repair the strained relationship.
However, insiders reveal that trust between the two royals has been deeply damaged.
“With the monarchy under pressure to prove its stability, two kings locked in silence is the last thing Britain needs,” Shuter explained.
The tension reportedly stems from King Charles’s belief that Prince William’s tone in the interview undermined royal unity at a delicate time, especially as the monarch continues to face health challenges and growing expectations from the public.
A senior palace insider told Shuter, “It’s not just family tension — it’s about the Crown itself.”
Earlier, Prince William had expressed his desire for modernization within the monarchy, saying,
“Change is on my agenda — change for good. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think need to happen.”
The statement, which some see as progress, seems to have increased the tension between the father and son.
