Denise Richards takes the stand against ex Aaron Phypers: Harrowing details from the testimony
Denise Richards is currently embroiled in an ongoing legal battle against ex-husband Aaron Phypers

Denise Richards split with her husband Aaron Phypers in July and was granted a temporary restraining order against him soon thereafter.
Now, the Real Housewives alum has been offered her day in court, where she took the stand to share horrific details about the abuse she endured during her marriage, which took place in 2018.
Here are the key takeaways:
Denise Richards claims she was ‘almost killed’
The actress testified that during the course of their marriage, Aaron Phypers repeatedly made threats on her life.
Richards has claimed that her ex-husband “would often threaten to throw me through the windows and off balconies” — “He’s almost killed me so many damn times,” she said.
What happened on the day they broke up?
The former Bond girl explained that on July 4, the day she first split with Phypers, he got “very angry” and “volatile” when she asked him to leave their home.
“He got very angry at me and volatile, he got very close to me. I had just recovered from a full facelift and I still had stitches behind my ears, and I felt extremely vulnerable,” she testified.
According to PEOPLE, “Richards said she was feeling ‘extremely vulnerable and in pain’, and suggested Phypers go stay at their old house, where his family was living at the time. That night, she ended up leaving their shared townhome and sleeping on her office sofa next door.”
Phypers’ parents got involved in the break-up
Richards further detailed how the very next day, Phypers and his father ambushed her at her place and threatened to release her nude photographs.
Following another physical altercation with her ex, Richards said that she told Phypers that he “hurt” her, but he claimed that he didn’t touch her “and he turned around and walked away with his dad.”
In the meantime, the actress began calling her mother-in-law for back up, as well as the emergency number, when Phypers threatened her, “Something very dangerous is going to happen to you. You’re going to disappear.”
Phypers denies the claims
Despite Richards being granted two separate restraining orders against him (the second one came in September), Phypers has denied the claims of abuse from his ex-wife, reiterating his stance in legal documents filed on September 15.
“I have not abused her and will not abuse her,” his filing revealed.
Instead, he alleged that it was Richards who had stalked and harassed him — “As well as asking other family and friends to ask me to call her so often that it should be considered harassment, demonstrating that she is not afraid of me and that she is the aggressive one.”
