Meghan Markle just can't stop breaking royal protocols?
Inside Duchess of Sussex habit of defying royal rule book

For more than a decade, Meghan Markle has been in the news, not for her humanitarian work or her fashion, but for the decidedly un-royal behaviour that continues to keep the “watchers” of Buckingham Palace on their toes.
Among other things, the Duchess of Sussex has actively participated in “modern” royals embracing the tradition,” etiquette by making public her views on controversial issues and hugging her fans.
The ‘royal experts’ suggest the 44-year-old casual approach to the etiquette of the royals and her ‘independence’ probably has roots in old Hollywood. To quote Richard Fitzwilliams, “She was never trained to follow the centuries-old etiquette that defines royal behaviour, Meghan represents a generation that values authenticity over formality, and that naturally clashes with the rigid structure of the monarchy.”
Since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan has made headlines for more than just her, “modern” off-shoulder dresses, un-closing her own car doors, and deviating from the royal family’s “silent” political views.
During her time as a senior royal, She was also known for giving warm hugs to the public as “friendly,” and “disgusting,” handshakes was part of the royal etiquette.
Supporters find Meghan’s behaviour to be a breath of fresh air. A source close to the Duchess shared with The Telegraph, “She’s not breaking rules to rebel. She’s simply being herself.”
Some of the critics residing within the royal family see it differently, though. “Every breach, intentional or not, widens the gap between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family.”
Regardless of the ire she collects, Meghan’s influence is undeniable. The Duchess continues to revise the royal family order, either through her demeanour or the rules of royal protocol, one “rule break” at a time.
