Stephen Miller vs. Hollywood: Inside controversial remarks against the industry

Stephen Miller is back in the news cycle, and this time, it is not for political discourse. The internet is relentless, and the Fox News segment featuring Laura Ingraham and Miller, for some reason, sparked the classic, relentless internet jokes.

What is remarkable about this segment is the rekindling of the conversation surrounding the ‘Hollywood Double Warfare’ that Miller is embroiled in.

This is not the first time Hollywood and Stephen Miller have been in the news in the same breath. Miller has been critical of Hollywood for a long time, accusing entertainers and Hollywood ‘liberal propaganda’ for what he calls ‘liberal propaganda’ in the mainstream political discourse.

During a particularly fiery segment of Hannity, Miller not only attacked Stephen Colbert for mocking him but also personal insults, calling him ‘sleazy and smarmy’ to which Hollywood did respond, and that only made Miller more notorious and the Hollywood elite even more intertwined with the so-called ‘liberal elite’ and the political discourse.

This is not just personal insults hurled at late-night hosts. In the past, Miller has pointed out the so-called ‘political hypocrisy’ of Hollywood activists in the narratives set by superstars of Hollywood, by glamorising poverty and inequity in politics and calling out socially irresponsible capitalism.

Miller insists that the so-called ‘political activism’ of these Hollywood stars is motivational and is even transferred the so-called ‘social justice activism’ is alienating to common Americans.

Miller continues to be frequent target for the same Hollywood that he critiques. Comedian John Oliver called him a “loser” in a segment of Last Week Tonight, and Stephen Colbert continues to mock him in his skits.

Even with the controversies surrounding him, Miller’s presence in culture continues to grow.

Be it the memes that are sparked because of his looks or the conversations surrounding celebrity influence that he tends to reopen, it is evident that Stephen Miller’s conflict with Hollywood is as much a part of his legacy as his politics.
