Timothée Chalamet is breaking out of his mainstream shell to experiment with something a bit more uncharacteristic.

The two time Academy Award nominee and star of the upcoming sports drama Marty Supreme shared a promotional teaser for his new film on Instagram.

Describing the intriguingly odd footage as “timmy’s livestream 2”, Chalamet further tagged photographer Aidan Zamiri and Oscar winning cinematographer Greig Fraser in the caption — presumably for their work on the promo.

Set to a thumping EDM track, the Call Me by Your Name star’s nearly five minute video featured him seated inside a transparent case with a ping pong mask on his head.

As the camera pans out and it is discovered that he is actually surrounded by hordes of similarly masked men, playing table tennis, Chalamet walks out of his box and towards a shipping container, the inside of which reveals an interview set.

The ping pong theme is obviously directed towards his new release, which is focused on a table tennis player aspiring for success in 1950s New York.

His voice is heard in the footage after what feels like a considerable stretch of silence — “‘Marty Supreme’ is an American film that comes out on Christmas 2025,” the 29-year-old superstar narrated.

Offering a useful description for the SAG winner’s latest marketing strategy, Variety noted, “A24 is known for its left-field marketing tactics, and Chalamet has more skin in the game than usual — he’s credited as a producer on the project.”

To note, Timothée Chalamet stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and others in Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, produced by A24 and out on December 25.
