Flora Vesterberg, King Charles’ cousin and granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, has become the first member of the Royal Family to publicly reveal that she is autistic.

The 30-year-old royal, who is 62nd in line to the throne, shared her diagnosis in a candid social media post.

“I’m looking forward to beginning my PhD at [The Courtauld] this month,” she wrote on Instagram, adding, “My focus will be on elevating Nordic Impressionism and so I’ll be spending more time in Scandinavia.”

Though she keeps a relatively low profile, Flora has often appeared alongside her extended family at major royal occasions, including Trooping the Colour and the funerals of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duchess of Kent.

Known for her deep commitment to education and the arts, Flora co-chairs the Young Patrons’ Circle at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
