Prince William’s secret mission revealed before Windsor castle ceremony

Prince William quietly made a secret visit to one of Britain’s most elite military units before hosting an emotional ceremony at Windsor Castle.

According to the Court Circular, “The Prince of Wales today visited the Headquarters of the Special Boat Service,” a special forces based at RM Poole in Dorset. The visit on Tuesday showcase William’s continued support for the armed forces, a role he has held close since his own military service.

Just a day later, on October 8, the future King presided over an award ceremony at Windsor Castle. The late Agnes Slocombe was posthumously honored with an MBE, collected by her daughter, Paulette. 

The Palace said, “Spotlighting Agnes Slocombe MBE, whose daughter Paulette collected her mother’s honour posthumously. Agnes was part of the Windrush Generation and was Barnet’s first black mayor.”

The statement added, “Congratulations to all those receiving honours today.” Among them was Love Island star Georgia Harrison, who received an MBE for her campaign to “start conversations” about consent with Thames Valley Police.

The Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) recognises remarkable contributions to public life and community service.
