What King Charles really think about Meghan Markle
Inside Meghan Markle and King Charles 'controversial' relationship

Royal watchers have been analysing King Charles III’s relationship with his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle more than ever.
Although no one involved has publicly acknowledged their dynamic, reports and royal insiders attribute cultural differences and suspicion to what appears to be an unsolvable gap between the Duchess of Sussex and the king.
Trust reached its lowest point after “Megxit”
People Magazine reports that the Sussexes stepping back from royal duties in 2020 caused an escalation in tensions betweenthe 76-year-old and the Sussexes. The couple was specifically not invited to King Charles’ official birthday celebrations, Trooping the Colour, which many viewed as another sign of ongoing estrangement.
Royal commentators quoted by the publication suggest that Charles was “personally hurt” by the couple and their media interviews following their departure.
Deleting statements added to the divide
Page Six has reported that King Charles was “furious” when the royal family’s website removed an old statement defending Meghan from the press.
Charles perceived the release of private family disputes to the public as an attack on the royal family’s reputation which, in turn, pushed more the idea that Meghan had brought controversy on the family.
Clash of culture and dissimilar worldviews
According to The Express, those familiar with the couple reckon that the assertive character of the 44-year-old and her readiness to break the rules of the royal family did not go hand in hand with the adherence to formality and discretion that Charles cherishes.
It was claimed that the King considered Meghan to be too modern with her social campaign work and her frankness on personal challenges to be too disruptive to the institution.
Truce between the two
The Sun states that now, Meghan does not engage in communication with King Charles or Queen Camilla. It was reported that the situation was a fragile ceasefire, which implies that the hostilities have been toned down, but the two parties are not willing to fully reconcile.
Although it is simplistic to say that King Charles simply does not like Meghan Markle, it is obvious that a mix of trust problems, cultural incompatibility, and the fallout has formed an insurmountable distance.
According to the commentators of the royal, reconciliation can be achieved through a personal conversation- something that both parties of the conflict do not appear to want to initiate.
