Jennifer Lopez is standing up for Bad Bunny after backlash over his upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance, urging fans to stay open-minded and embrace the moment.

During her interview on CBS Mornings with Gayle King on Thursday, the Kiss of the Spider Woman star dismissed criticism that the Puerto Rican rapper shouldn’t headline because he performs mostly in Spanish.

“I think it’s wonderful people will get exposed to him who don’t know him,” Lopez said. “Just give it a chance!”

J.Lo, who shared the Super Bowl stage with Bad Bunny and Shakira in 2020, praised his global impact, saying, “Music and art transcend languages, and he’s done that more than anybody.”

She also addressed those, including former President Donald Trump, who claim they’ve never heard of the star.

“Super Bowl is great because it introduces you to people who didn’t know you,” she said.

Promoting her new film Kiss of the Spider Woman, Lopez reflected on today’s social climate, adding, “There’s a lot of hate and demonization... We need to remind each other that love is the answer — not hate.”
