Did you know few Royal family members broke the stigma who have tried therapy?

On the World’s Mental Health Day, let’s find out about some of the royal family members who have struggled with mental health issues and opted seeking therapy for well-being:

1. Prince Harry

The Duke of Sussex, who has openly hared his struggles with mental health, once revealed that he has been in therapy since his late twenties and continues to use it to process trauma and grief.

The prince also shared how therapy has helped him cope with past experiences, manage anxiety and panic attacks, and develop a new "language" to process his feelings.

2. Princess Diana

During her interview in 1995 with BBC Panorama, the late princess declared that she was the first person ever to be in the family who ever had a depression or was ever openly tearful.

Princess Diana was also open about seeking treatment for post-partum depression, bulimia, and marital problems.

"I received a great deal of treatment, but I knew in myself that actually what I needed was space and time to adapt to all the different roles that had come my way," she said, adding, "I knew I could do it, but I needed people to be patient and give me the space to do it."

3. Prince William and Kate Middleton

The Prince and Princess of Wales have also spoken about the importance of mental health on numorous occasions.

There is no public confirmation that Prince William and Kate Middleton have gone to therapy, but they have spoken openly about their support for mental health awareness and have alluded to personal struggles.

The princess once described the challenges of motherhood as leading to a "lack of confidence and feelings of ignorance".

4. King Charles

According to royal reporter and biographer Sally Bedell Smith the king back earlier when was a prince attended sessions with Dr. Alan McGlashan for 14 years after seeking help in the early years of his marriage.

5. Meghan Markle

Duchess of Sussex, who has been candid about her personal struggles in the public eye since 2020, once revealed that she sought therapy after experiencing suicidal thoughts.

She also said that Prince Harry's support helped her find a therapist when she felt her mental health was at its "worst point".
