‘The Inbetweeners’ are back: Get ready for more laughter and chaos
‘The Inbetweeners’ comeback was announced on October 13 but no specific release date has been set

Fans of the popular British teen comedy The Inbetweeners have a reason to celebrate, as the show is set to make a return.
Known for its outrageous humour and unforgettable quotes, the series became a cultural phenomenon even spawning two hit films.
Now, creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are teaming up once again, this time with Banijay UK and their own company Fudge Park productions to bring back the show.
While details about the format or platform are still unknown as the creators hinted that the new version would still revolve around the original characters.
A realistic take on teenage life
First aired on E4 between 2008 and 2019 as The Inbetweeners followed the lives of four awkward teenagers includes Will MacKenzie and his friends Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright as they stumbled through high school life at Rudge Park Comprehensive.
The show focused on friendship, embarrassing teenage moments and failed attempts at romance. It was intentionally written as a more realistic and awkward look at teenage life, in contrast to other shows like Skins. As Morris once said, adolescence was mostly “crap.”
Record breaking success
The was a huge success, running for three seasons and setting record ratings for the channel as its popularity led to two feature films, released in 2011 and 2014, both of which were box office hits. The first film even broke records for the biggest opening weekend for a British comedy at the time.
New deal unlocks new possibilities
The original show was produced by Bwark productions which was later sold Zodiak Media and the became part of Banijay in 2016.
Now, the new deal unlocks what is described as “the rights and the potential to bring The Inbetweeners back for new audiences across a range of platforms including film, TV and stage.”

What the creators have been up to
Since the original series ended, Morris and Beesly have continued working on various projects, including The Festival, White Gold and My Oxford Year.
