Katy Perry's rumoured new romance with Justin Trudeau is being labelled as a "poor" career decision for the singer.

For the unversed, the E.T singer seemingly addressed her and former Canadian prime minister's romance during her Lifetimes Tour concert in London.

Now, as reported by Daily Mail’s source, their romance is indeed "genuine", but it could be a poor decision for Perry’s career.

The insider dished out, "No one saw this coming but I think it's genuine', a source said of the new A-list couple. But she isn't the best judge of character, from an optics point of view.

The source noted that singer’s alleged troubled past is one of the reasons as received negative publicity in the past year from her album and association with Dr Luke, and then a failed Blue Origin's all-female space flight in April 2025.

The 53-year-old politician, on other hand, who stepped down as Canada's Prime Minister in January 2025, "has become a polarising character and his popularity has diminished a lot", the tipster shared.

"Katy is wowing fans around the world with her show and is beginning to win back public favour," the source maintained, adding, "But her association with Justin is taking away from her positive pr and she's up again being negatively spoken about."

The rumours of their dating began in July 2025 when the couple wasspotted together in Montreal.

Katy Perry, who has a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, was previously engaged to Orlando Bloom.

Justin Trudeau, on other hand, was married to ex-wife Sophie Grégoire from 2005 to 2023.
