Anna Wintour breaks silence on ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ cameo buzz

Anna Wintour has cleared the air once and for all about the growing rumours surrounding her character in The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Speculation about Wintour’s involvement began after she was spotted interacting with Meryl Streep, who portrayed the editor-in-chief of fictional Runaway magazine.

For the unversed, Streep’s character has long been rumoured to be inspired by the 75-year-old Vogue editor herself.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Wintour addressed the buzz around her rumoured cameo, saying, “Well, I think you have to ask the producers that question. They haven’t told me.”

The eagerly awaited sequel will see Streep reprise her legendary 2006 role as Miranda Priestly, alongside Anne Hathaway as fashionista Andrea “Andy” Sachs and Emily Blunt as senior assistant Emily Charlton.

According to a report of Variety, the sequel follows Priestly “as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”

It is worth noting that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
