Meghan Markle breaks silence on Netflix deal after ‘With Love, Meghan’ backlash
Meghan Markle speaks out after Netflix series flop and teases new project ahead

Meghan Markle has finally broken her silence on her and Prince Harry’s Netflix deal, addressing its future following the disappointing response to her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan.
Speaking at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington DC on Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about their renewed partnership with the streaming giant.
“My husband and I were in an overall deal with Netflix then, not dissimilar to Higher Ground and the Obamas’ deal,” Meghan explained during her session titled Next Level Influence: A Conversation with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
She continued, “Once that had come to its term, the extension of it — which was such an incredible sign of the strength of our partnership — was now being in a first-look deal.”
Calling it “exciting,” Meghan added, “It gives us flexibility to go to our partners first, then shop content that might not be the right fit for Netflix but has a home somewhere else.”
When asked about With Love, Meghan, she teased, “Well, the holiday special is coming out in November, adding “It’s a really good one.”
Her comments come after the show’s second season was slammed by critics and failed to reach Netflix’s global Top 10.
