Kevin Federline seems to be the ex who just wouldn’t remain one — for the release of his new memoir, You Thought You Knew, the former husband of Britney Spears has come out with new claims about his life with the Grammy winning singer.
Married between 2004 and 2007, Federline and Spears are also parents to two sons and have remained largely at odds with each other ever since their split.
The latest book however takes things to the extreme, as the DJ recounts his marriage’s past while further raising alarms about the Toxic singer’s future.
The concerns
In an excerpt obtained by The New York Times ahead of the memoir’s release, Kevin Federline hinted at something sinister which allegedly awaits Britney Spears.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible,” he ominously wrote.
Without naming anything or anyone, the dancer and actor additionally shared that “the clock is ticking” for Spears and that her case, whatever it may be, is edging closer “to the 11th hour.”
“Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces,” Federline expressed concern for the former couple’s children, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline.
On that note, he also revealed details about his ex-wife’s parenting of their sons which left him disturbed in the past.
“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand. Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation,” he recalled.
Britney Spears responds
Representatives for Spears have swiftly responded to Federline’s latest attempts, describing them as “profiting off her.”
“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” a spokesperson told The Independent. “All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.”
An unlikely source
Regarding Kevin Federline’s apprehensive claims, another one of Britney Spears’ exes has jumped in to save the day.
Jason Alexander, Spears’ first husband, condemned the upcoming memoir and its author in a detailed post on his Instagram.
“Kevin, You Don’t Get to Rewrite the Story Without Owning Your Role. Surprise, surprise, it leans heavy on painting Britney in a bad light,” his caption revealed.
To note, Britney Spears and Jason Alexander were infamously married for only about 55 hours in January 2004, before the union was annulled due to stemming from an impulsive decision.
