Prince William and Kate Middleton took a moment out of their incredibly full day on October 15 to send a light the way of grieving parents.

Tommy’s, UK’s largest pregnancy and baby loss charity, urged “families across the world” to assemble for a “wave of light”.

To mark the occasion, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared an Instagram story featuring a candle, with the hashtag “waveoflight”.

The couple’s official Instagram account further tagged the organisation’s profile on the platform as well.

For their heartfelt gesture, Tommy’s reposted the story with the response, “Thank you for your support”.

The somber event was to be observed at 7 p.m., according to the UK time, as the charitable institute announced, “Join us by lighting a candle, or sharing a candle on the next slide, in memory of your much-loved babies.”

To note, Tommy’s is an organisation which began “in a spare cupboard in St Thomas’ Hospital”, according to its official website.

“We’re the leading charity stopping the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and making pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone,” they further described.

Meanwhile, Wednesday saw Prince William and Kate Middleton remain otherwise preoccupied due to hosting Jordan’s Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa at Windsor Castle. William and Hussein also paid a visit to RAF Benson on the same day.
