Britney Spears is taking matters into her own hands, and surpassing any representatives or spokespeople, has come out against Kevin Federline following the publishing of a bombshell excerpt from his yet-to-be released memoir.

In You Thought You Knew, Federline has detailed Spears’ alleged drug use and concerning behaviour, which he even claimed kept their two sons on their toes.

However, the Oops!…I Did It Again hitmaker is not laying low anymore and shared a statement on her social media addressing her ex-husband’s “constant gaslighting”.

“The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting. I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life,” her extensive message began. (Sic)

While she further insinuated that her kids, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, continue to ostracise her because “they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own father for me.” (Sic)

As the celebrated pop star complained about her sons’ lack of interest when it comes to spending time with their mother, she claimed, “From now on I will let them know when I am available.”

“Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here,” added Spears.

Finally stating that she will “always love them”, she also urged her followers to not pay attention “to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking.”

“I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life the past 5 years. I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same,” the statement concluded.

Nevertheless, Kevin Federline seems all geared up for the release of his memoir, which will be out October 21. Though it is worth noting that the tell-all style book is being released almost a year since Britney Spears was legally done paying child support to her ex-husband and their children, back in November 2024.
