Daytime Emmys 2025: Drew Barrymore celebrates major career milestone after four decades

Drew Barrymore has recently garnered all the attention after hitting a major milestone in her long-standing career.

On Friday, October 17, the 50-year-old actress and host took home her first-ever Emmy award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host at the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena, California.

It is pertinent to mention that her major win comes almost 40 years after her first-ever Emmy nomination.

Moreover, The Drew Barrymore Show accumulated nine nominations altogether, including Outstanding Costume Design/Styling and Outstanding Technical Direction.

Her show also landed nominations for Outstanding Directing Team for a Multiple Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program and Outstanding Hairstyling And Makeup.

Barrymore, who was not present at the event, won the first accolade by beating several other popular daytime TV shows and hosts, including TODAY with Hoda and Jenna, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, and The Jennifer Hudson Show.

For those unversed, Drew Barrymore was first nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1986 in the Outstanding Performer in Children’s Programming category for her impressive work on the show The Adventures of Con Sawyer and Hucklemary Finn.
