Selena Gomez breaks silence after Hailey Bieber's controversial comment

Regardless of her long-rumoured differences with Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez continues to show support for her contemporaries, choosing kindness over conflict.

In a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine's Innovators issue, Hailey Bieber indirectly took aim at her husband Justin Bieber’s famous former girlfriend, amid their speculated rift.

During the interview, the 28-year-old supermodel was asked whether she feels competitive now that her beauty brand, Rhode, has been introduced to Sephora alongside Selena’s Rare Beauty products.

While Hailey didn't name the Calm Down songstress, she took a shocking dig at her, saying, “I think there is space for everybody. I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by.”

“It’s always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that,” she added.

Shortly after the Vogue model’s remarks, Selena took to her Instagram story where she extended her support for Hailey in a rare statement, remaining unbothered.

“Just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants. Doesn’t affect my life whatsoever. It’s just about relevance not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me,” the Only Murders in the Building actress said in a now-deleted story.

While further adding, “There is room for everyone. And hopefully we can all stop.”

It is worth noting that Justin Bieber went public with Selena Gomez in 2011 and confirmed his relationship with Hailey Bieber in 2016.
