Prince William makes key decision about Prince Andrew’s future in royal family

Prince William is reportedly planning to ban his disgraced paternal uncle, Prince Andrew, from all upcoming royal events.

According to The Sunday Times, William remains discontent with the verdict concerning Andrew.

Although Prince William was reportedly consulted about his uncle stepping down from his royal titles, he is worried that the "Andrew problem" could soon become his own.

A royal insider added that the 65-year-old prince will be banned “from all elements of royal life” once William becomes the next monarch.

Reports also suggest that King Charles’ elder son is considering excluding Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s ex-wife, from royal occasions.

However, his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will continue to be welcomed at family and public events.

This update comes after Andrew announced the withdrawal of his title as a duke.

In a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Friday, October 17, the former royal member said, “In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first.”

He added, "I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life. With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me."

This move aims to ensure that Prince Andrew no longer uses the privileges of his titles and honours, and fully withdraws from public life amid the controversy surrounding his association with the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
