Kim Kardashian explains the secret behind her boldest mask red carpet look yet

Kim Kardashian turned heads once again at the Academy Museum Gala, as she stunned in a bold masked look that quickly became the talk of the evening.

The SKIMS founder spoke to Variety and shared the story behind her striking outfit, saying, “Margiela couture, [Designer] Glenn Martens. You know, I love Margiela. I flew in my favorite makeup artist Mario from New York, and this is kind of a last-minute thing, so I’m sure he’s not so happy with it.”

Kim revealed that she was in “full hair and makeup” beneath the mask, planning to remove it once inside the gala.

“It does look very Skims-y. That’s why I was drawn to it when the Margiela couture show came out. I saw this look and I was like, ‘That is so Skims to me,’” she added.

The reality star also opened up about her latest viral creation, a limited line of $32 merkins. 

“That was just a fun idea I had,” she said, adding, “I had no idea it would get that reaction and sell out in a few minutes.”

This isn’t Kim Kardashian’s first high-fashion risk, fans still remember her full body Balenciaga ensemble from the 2021 Met Gala.
