Prince William to ban Prince Andrew from coronation and royal events amid Epstein scandal
Prince William distances himself from Prince Andrew in the wake of the Epstein controversy

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are reviewing claims that Prince Andrew attempted to uncover private information about Virginia Giuffre, the woman who accused him of sexual assault.
Reports suggest that the Prince of Wales, Prince William is taking a tougher stance toward his uncle following the ongoing controversy surrounding Andrew’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to The Sunday Times, William plans a “more ruthless” approach, which includes banning Prince Andrew from attending his future coronation and other royal events.
The newspaper also revealed that William was consulted when the decision was made for Andrew to give up his Duke of York title and royal honours.
However, the heir to the throne “knows the ‘Andrew problem’ will be in his in-tray at some point.”
Meanwhile, The Mail on Sunday reported that Andrew allegedly asked the Metropolitan Police in 2011 to gather personal information about Giuffre including her date of birth and social security number in what was described as an attempt to discredit her.
Prince Andrew, who still holds his prince title and resides in the Royal Lodge mansion, issued a statement on Friday saying he would no longer use his Duke of York title or honours to avoid distracting from the royal family’s work.
He stated, “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me. In discussion with the King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family.
“I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me,” Prince Andrew added.
