Silicon Valley’s biggest names funding Trump’s dream ballroom
List of donors funding Trump’s ambitious $300 million 'White House ballroom' project has been revealed
The list of donors funding President Donald Trump’s ambitious $300 million "White House ballroom" project has been revealed, and it’s packed with some of Silicon Valley’s biggest names.
Major tech players, including Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, HP, and Microsoft, are among those contributing to Trump’s dream project.
Other donors include cryptocurrency giants Coinbase, Ripple, and Tether America, along with the Winklevoss twins, defense contractors Palantir Technologies and Lockheed Martin.
Moreover, telecom firms Comcast and T-Mobile, and even the Glazer family, owners of Manchester United and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also included.
While the government remains in partial shutdown, construction crews have already begun demolishing parts of the East Wing to make way for the 90,000-square-foot ballroom, which has the capacity to host up to 1,000 guests.
Notably, taxpayers aren’t funding it; Trump’s team says the entire project is being financed through private donations.
While it remains unclear how much each company has contributed, reports have suggested that Google’s $20 million donation is linked to a recent legal settlement over Trump’s suspended YouTube account following the January 6 Capitol riots.
The growing support from tech companies also signals a shift in Silicon Valley’s relationship with Trump.
Many firms that once kept their distance during Trump’s first term are also showing financial support.
