Nancy Meyers is remembering her longtime friend and collaborator, the late Diane Keaton.

Keaton, who passed away at 79 on October 11 after a bacterial pneumonia infection, shared a decades long creative bond with Meyers.

The director took to Instagram on Friday, October 24, to share a touching behind the scenes photo from their 2003 classic Something’s Gotta Give.

“One of my favorite set stills,” Meyers, 75, wrote, adding, “Rehearsing mouth to mouth. This photo has been sitting on a table in my office for over 20 years, and it still brings a smile to my face.”

The duo worked together on several beloved films, including Baby Boom (1987) and the Father of the Bride movies (1991 and 1995).

Meyers had earlier mourned Keaton’s death, writing, “As a movie lover, I’m with you all — we have lost a giant. A brilliant actress who time and again laid herself bare to tell our stories.”

Calling Diane Keaton a “friend of almost 40 years,” Nancy Meyers added, “As a filmmaker, I’ve lost a connection with an actress that one can only dream of.”
