Born in Highland Park, Michigan in 1961, Meadows began his comedy journey performing improv in Detroit before joining Chicago’s famed Second City.
There, he met future Saturday Night Live castmate Chris Farley.
Though SNL creator Lorne Michaels first met him in 1990, Meadows officially joined the cast in 1991, staying for ten seasons.
During that time, he became known for impersonating O.J. Simpson, Tiger Woods, Oprah Winfrey and more but his most famous creation was Leon Phelps, the Ladies’ Man.
His fans raved about his remarkable scenes from SNL, praising his impeccable comedic, saying, “He not only makes almost every scene better."
Another fan noted, “but he also has a way of being the funniest person in that scene.”
After SNL, Meadows’ film career included Mean Girls, Walk Hard, Grown Ups, and Dream Scenario.
On television, he’s been a constant presence with memorable roles in The The Goldbergs, Bob’s Burgers, and Digman!.
Even now, Tim Meadows continues performing improv nationwide.
