Penn Badgley hints at 'Gossip Girl' reunion

In an unexpected move, Penn Badgley has sparked excitement amongst fans by teasing a potential Gossip Girl reunion.

During a segment for Entertainment Tonight, the 38-year-old star along with his Podcrushed partners, Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari interview each other about their new book, Crushmore.

In the interview, Sophie directly addressed the You star, who was previously known for playing Dan Humphery on Gossip Girl, about them celebrating the 18th anniversary of the fan favourite teen romance drama series and whether he was willing to reunite with his former castmates. 

"We just celebrated the 18th anniversary of ‘Gossip Girl.’ Would you be open to getting the cast together on our podcast?" she asked.

Adding on an additional question, she inquired, "And do you think your co-stars would be game for that?"

"No. I don’t think they would be game for it," he joked as he let out a chuckle, making Sophie burst into laughter as well. 

However, he said he would be down for having them as guests if they were willing to join him.

"If they were willing to do it. I mean, yeah," he said, then proceeded to look over to Nava, and asked if they should invite them.

The podcast shared the clip on their Instagram, writing, "How can we turn this tepid maybe into a yes? Asking for a friend," and sent fans into a major frenzy who stormed the comment section with excitement.

"I can’t think of a better place for a Gossip Girl reunion! You definitely need to bring members of the older cast such as Matthew and Kelly to talk about their experiences on the show and their teen years!" a user wrote.

"Omg pleeeaaaseeeee," another stated.

A third penned, "Please!! That would be awesome."
