Residents of Maidenhead street, which was named after Prince Andrew are now pushing to change their address amid the Royal’s tarnished reputation.

Locals say the Berkshire street has become a point of embarrassment for residents, leaving them uneasy and awkward whenever they have to reveal their address.

The campaign to rename the street comes after King Charles’ younger brother gave up his Royal titles, including Duke of York, following heavy scrutiny over his connections to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Inhabitants of the quiet street, only 11 miles away from Windsor’s Royal Lodge, admit they feel ashamed to share any sort of link with Andrew.

A growing number of residents have backed the idea of distancing themselves from the disgraced royal, whose image remains deeply damaged by the serious accusations.

Tom Kirk, who moved to the street earlier this year with his partner and young child, spoke of the “embarrassing association” that comes with his address.

"Whenever you speak with someone, if you're ordering something or tell someone where you live, there's always raised eyebrows," he told the Maidenhead Advertiser, as per GB NEWS reports.

He voiced his discomfort, explaining, "There's the ethical standpoint with the association. This road’s name is now linked to controversy, given the severity of the allegations that continue to come through."

"You've removed all of his titles and everything else, why should we have to live on a road that's named after him?" another resident questioned.
