Kate Middleton’s revealing gesture around Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson: ‘No desire to engage or talk’
Body language expert explains Kate Middleton’s approach around the former Duke and Duchess
Kate Middleton has been quietly affirming the monarchy’s response to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s scandalous situation. And a previous interaction between the future queen and the disgraced couple reflects exactly that.
According to body language expert, Judi James, the Princess of Wales demonstrated a masterclass in warding off “any unwanted attention” around Andrew and Sarah, during the Duchess of Kent’s funeral in September.
Describing the polished royal as a “protective huntress”, James told the Daily Mail that Kate did well to ignore the former Duke and Duchess of York by “posing on behalf of her husband”.
“Her peripheral vision seems at first to be aware and wary of Fergie who is moving around behind and beside her,” she explained. “Her closed hand and her unsmiling expression signal no desire to engage or talk here, just keep the ex-royal in sight.”
It is crucial to highlight that though the funeral was held before the former members of the York household were stripped of their titles, Princess Kate’s body language may have been a hint at what was to come, hidden in plain sight.
It was also observed that Prince William seemed just as agitated at having to make his uncle’s acquaintance at the somber gathering. A friend of the future monarch told the Daily Beast that he “was ‘furious’ at being ‘ambushed’ by his uncle, as pictures and footage of a scowling William standing alongside Andrew and The King emerged.”
