In a remarkable development, Elon Musk has officially launched Grokipedia, an AI-powered encyclopedia built by his AI chatbot Grok, calling it a “10X better” alternative to Wikipedia.

This new platform is Musk’s latest bid to challenge what he describes as “biased” and “woke” information online.

Unlike Wikipedia, which relies on human editors to create and update content, Grokipedia is entirely generated by Musk’s AI system.

The Tesla CEO didn’t hold back in his bold comparison to Wikipedia, claiming the very first version of Grokipedia is already superior.

“Version 1.0 will be 10X better than Wikipedia. But even at 0.1, it’s already better,” Musk posted on X.

However, there’s a catch. While users can suggest edits, they cannot directly modify articles.

Musk’s idea for Grokipedia reportedly took shape after US President Donald Trump’s AI and crypto czar, David Sacks, posted on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting a need for an AI to “rewrite Wikipedia” by including all “banned sources.”

Musk quickly replied, “xAI is doing this for all human knowledge. We will open source the results.”

The project moved at lightning speed as the concept was floated in late September, and within a month, Musk made it a reality.

Calling it “super important for human civilisation,” Musk said the platform aims to “help humanity better understand the universe.”
