Vicky Krieps shares her fondest memories from 'Phantom Thread'

Vicky Krieps is looking back on her time working with Daniel Day-Lewis in Phantom Thread, and the moments she cherishes most from the acclaimed film.

The 42-year-old actress had a candid chat with PEOPLE at the New York Film Festival where she expressed her gratitude for being asked about the joyful parts of filming. 

"Thank you for asking this question, because usually people hint at what was difficult, and you're asking me what was fun," she remarked. 

"What was fun working on Phantom Thread was all the quirky, weird moments where you think of 'How can we put this together?' It's actually fun to think of how weird people can be,".”

The Hot Milk actress also fondly recalled her poetic walks with Day-Lewis between takes. 

"The New Year's Eve dancing was one of the most beautiful things I've ever done in my life," Vicky recalled, referring to a scene from Phantom Thread. 

"The nature. Me and Daniel would walk around nature and just look at trees and talk about poetry. That was beautiful and fun. Leslie Manville is so much fun."

Day-Lewis, who famously took an eight-year break from acting after the film’s release, returns this year in Anemone, directed by his son Ronan. 

Meanwhile, Krieps stars in the upcoming ensemble drama Father Mother Sister Brother, set for release on December 24.
