Elaine Hendrix's ‘DWTS’ journey in jeopardy after rehearsal injury

Elaine Hendrix’s journey on Dancing with the Stars hit a rocky patch after a serious rehearsal injury.

During preparations for the Halloween night show, Elaine was taken to hospital after she “kind of froze and said she can’t move and she can’t breathe and something happened with her rib,” her partner Alan Bersten revealed.

While she remained under medical care, the show aired footage of the moment she was carried off the floor on a stretcher.

Elaine later posted from her hospital bed, “I injured my ribs … today they just seized up and I couldn’t move.”

She added, “They brought me to the hospital, but the doctor has said with a day or two of rest I should be able to continue and that’s exactly what I want to do. … Alan is holding down the fort, he’s amazing, he’s awesome. I was so excited for this routine … I want to dance. I want to keep doing this.”

Judge Derek Hough sent his good wishes during the episode, saying, “First and foremost, we love you Elaine … We’re sending you our best, speedy recovery.”

Though the injury puts her participation in jeopardy, Elaine Hendrix's determination to return to the ballroom shines through and fans are rooting for her as she fights to stay in the competition.
