Chappell Roan is set to honour one of her biggest musical inspirations, Cyndi Lauper, by inducting her into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

For those unversed, an induction is a ceremony where an artist or band is officially recognised and celebrated for their lasting impact on the music industry.

In an Instagram video announcing the news, Chappell expressed her excitement about the induction and reflected about the influence Cyndi has had on her, both personally and professionally.

"She has inspired me with her fashion and her hair, and of course, her makeup, her music," the 27-year-old singer said.

"I actually auditioned with 'True Colours' for 'America's Got Talent' when I was 13. I didn't make it, but the song is still incredible. I'm so excited, thank you for having me,” the young pop star reminisced.

Last year, in an interview with Playbill, her childhood hero also praised the Good Luck, Babe! hitmaker’s rising career.

"Such dusky, yearning keyboard pop," she said of Chappell's music.

"And that hair! That kind of reminds me of what I did on the blues record, 'Memphis Blues'. This is just incredible," she addded.

It is worth noting that Doja Cat, Elton John, and Olivia Rodrigo are also among the performers and presenters for the ceremony.

While Beck, David Letterman, Flea, Iggy Pop, J.I.D, Killer Mike, Maxwell, Questlove, Raye, Sleepy Brown, Teddy Swims, Twenty One Pilots and Taylor Momsen will also make appearances at the Los Angeles event.

The prestigious 40th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will take place on November 8.
