Hugh Jackman opens up about his children’s future career paths

Hugh Jackman recently shared his thoughts on his children’s potential career choices and whether they may follow in his footsteps.

During the premiere of his latest movie, Song Sung Blue, at the 2025 AFI Fest, the 57-year-old actor admitted that he remains uncertain about what paths his children would prefer to choose.

At the same time, Jackman emphasised that whatever direction they take, it should be something that they truly love.

"They'd both be very good, but I don't know. I just want them to do what they love,” he told E! News.

Previously, in a June 2018 interview with People, the X-Men actor acknowledged that his kids have "so many advantages."

"I want them to know that they have a responsibility to use those advantages to help others," he said at the time.

Jackman added, "My kids are constantly reminded about how lucky we are in our family. We’re ridiculously blessed. We live in a beautiful home in places that other people dream of."

"But in terms of the world, we’re even more blessed. One out of six people doesn’t have clean drinking water. They can’t comprehend how we live," the Prisoners actor continued.

It is worth noting that Hugh Jackman is father to two children, Oscar Maximilian and Ava Eliot, whom he shares with ex-wife Debora-Lee Furness.
