Sia drops bombshell claims against her ex-Daniel Bernad amid messy legal battle

Sia has recently made accusations against her former husband, Daniel Bernad, amid an ongoing custody battle.

On Tuesday, October 28, the 49-year-old Australian singer-songwriter filed a rebuttal in Los Angeles Superior Court against her former partner.

For those unfamiliar, a rebuttal is a statement asserting that something is not true.

The formerly estranged couple, who parted ways in March of this year, has been involved in a chaotic lawsuit over the custody of their one-year-old son, Somersault “Summi” Bernad.

Prior to Sia’s claims, Daniel alleged that the Chandelier hitmaker poses a danger to their son, labelling her an “unfit and unreliable parent” struggling with substance-abuse problems.

In a striking response to the accusations, Sia denied them, calling them as misleading and saying they were meant to exploit her past struggles with addiction.

Furthermore, she reiterated that she has been sober for over six months.

An insider recently revealed to PEOPLE magazine about how the Cheap Thrills songstress has been dealing with the situation.

“She's heartbroken that her ongoing divorce and custody battle has become public. She's devastated that something so private has turned into a headline. She's incredibly protective of her family, and this attention has been very painful for her,” a source said of Sia.
