Missing Halloween episodes on TV? Revisit some of Disney’s best
Blast from the past: Disney Halloween episodes
Holiday themed episodes in television seem to be a lost art — and one which American small screen productions used to thrive on.
Where occasions like Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, and more made for some of the most entertaining hours on TV, the current era of bingeing rarely allows for series planned long in advance to include festive episodes.
That’s where Disney Channel comes in.
For the upcoming Halloween weekend, gather your friends (or your favourite treats) and huddle around to revisit some of the greatest episodes centred around the exciting spooky holiday.
Hannah Montana: ‘Torn Between Two Hannahs’
The 17th episode of Hannah Montana’s first season featured Miley Cyrus adopting a third screen persona on the show where she already doubled as Miley Stewart and her pop star alter ego — Miley’s evil cousin, Luann.
Phineas and Ferb: ‘Druselsteinoween/Face Your Fear’
Featured in the show’s fourth season, this Halloween episode takes place in the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s newly discovered inheritance, the “Drusselstein” castle. The episode further includes a catchy tune, called Vampire Queens Love Pimpernels — a true Phineas and Ferb staple.
Wizards of Waverly Place: ‘Halloween’
Simply titled after the holiday itself, the second episode of Wizards’ third season featured the Russo gang trying to save their place in the Waverly community by arranging the scariest haunted house on the block. The episode is also memorable for a particularly hair-raising moment featuring an odd ghost.
Kim Possible: ‘October 31st’
Skipping any spooky scares, Kim Possible’s Halloween episode from its first season featured the titular superheroine in a race against time as her stress-activated battle armor bracelet begins to cover her entire body, jeopardising her Halloween plans.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: ‘The Ghost of Suite 613’
Perhaps the most famous Halloween episode from Disney’s golden era, the 19th episode of Zack & Cody’s first season featured a haunted hotel room and the ghost of a wealthy woman, named Irene.
