Floyd Roger Myers Jr.’s mother mourns his sudden death
Floyd Roger Myers Jr., best known for his roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Jacksons: An American Dream, has passed away at 42.
The actor died of a heart attack at his Maryland home early Wednesday morning, October 29, his mother, Renee Trice, told TMZ. “I spoke to him just hours before he died,” Trice shared, revealing that her son had suffered three heart attacks in the past three years.
His sister, Tyree Trice, launched a GoFundMe to support funeral expenses, remembering him as “a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.”
In a touching tribute, his organisation wrote, “RIP to our good brother @rocwonder… The mission will continue in your honor.” Myers’ funeral is set for Monday, November 3.
Myers rose to fame as a child actor, playing a young Will Smith in a 1992 episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and later that year starring as young Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream.
Moreover, he also made an appearance in Young Americans in 2000.
Beyond acting, Floyd Roger Myers Jr. was a devoted father of four and co-founder of The Fellaship Mens Group, an organization that encourages men to “lead, heal & thrive.”
