Although Prince Andrew’s official royal biography has been updated after he renounced all his royal titles and honours, one key detail remains unchanged.

As it turns out, he still appears to be listed as the Duke of York in another section.

On October 17, 2025, the 65-year-old Royal Family member revealed that he will be giving up his Royal titles amid intense scrutiny over his alleged ties with Jeffrey Epstein.

Within a few days, the Royal family’s official site was amended by swapping his name from 'Duke of York' to simply 'Prince Andrew.'

But, even with such prompt action, it seems like one section of the site was not updated; One quick look at the Line of Succession page, and it shows his old title 'Duke of York' remains unchanged.

After tying the knot with Sarah Ferguson in 1986, Queen Elizabeth II granted Andrew the titles 'Duke of York, Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh.'

Though Prince Andrew has dropped his royal titles and honours like Order of the Garter, he will still carry on the title of Prince as he is the late monarch’s son, a position protected by the Letters Patent issued by George V in 1917, which Queen Elizabeth updated in 2012.

Andrew also continues to hold his position in the line of succession, sitting at eighth place to the throne.
