Billie Eilish admits she nearly cut 'Birds of a Feather'

In a surprising twist, Billie Eilish admitted the fan favourite Birds of a Feather almost didn't make the cut.
Talking to WSJ. Magazine, the 23-year-old singer that the hit song was almost left off album Hit Me Hard and Soft, despite working on it for nearly a year with brother Finneas.
"Multiple times I was like, ‘We should cut this,'" she recalled, the very same song that later sat on No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100 and became a five-times platinum hit.
"Even when I played the whole album for the label, I was like, ‘Guys, this one is kind of stupid,'" she went on to confess.
Reflecting on her early career days, laughing at the irony of it all, the Ocean Eyes hitmaker was often told her songs were "too sad" and how she felt pressure to make "happier songs."
During the creation of Birds of the Feather, Billie made sure to add "something dark" into the song to balance out the "rainbows and smiles."
"We wrote about the idea that you’re going to die soon, and let’s make it last," she explained.
And of course, the song turned out to be a major hit with her fans, earning her three Grammy nominations for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
