Sam Claflin and Jennifer Lawrence experienced a seemingly awkward moment while filming for Hunger Games' sequel Catching Fire.
During his chat with People about his role in the new Prime Video series Lazarus, the 39-year-old British actor revealed that during Catching Fire, his character Finnick Odair's trident broke mid-fight with Jennifer, leaving her with a small bruise.
"I honestly really look back at that time with so many fond memories, and just generally running around the jungles of Hawaii with Lynn Cohen on my back, and I was sprinting through brush and rolling down hills and telling jokes and sitting in hot tubs in the middle of the jungle," Claflin said.
"I remember this one time at the end of a take, I was like, 'Oh my God, the bottom of my trident came off in the middle of that fight choreography,' " he added.
"I remember Jen saying, 'I know what [happened]...' She basically, in the middle of the fight, she felt like she'd been bitten in the bum, and she ended up realizing that the end of my trident spun off and smacked her right in the bum cheek."
As the Me Before You star remembered, the 35-year-old actress, "then got someone to take a photo of a welt that would appear, and it was the same shape as the circular end of my trident, but right on her bum cheek."
Claflin had been acting for three years when he landed the role of Finnick, a former Hunger Games winner forced to return to the deadly arena in the second film.
He continued the role in Mockingjay: Part 1 and Part 2, joining Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, in her fight against the Capitol.
"Catching Fire was such a special time in my life," he told People.
