Julia Fox stirs controversy with her bloody take on Jackie Kennedy’s legacy
Despite heavy backlash, Julia Fox insists her Jackie Kennedy outfit was a form of artistic resistance
Julia Fox is stirring controversy this Halloween after dressing up as former first lady Jackie Kennedy in a blood-stained pink suit a bold look inspired by one of history’s most tragic moments.
The Uncut Gems star appeared at The Cursed Amulet’s Halloween party in New York City on Thursday night, wearing a replica of the pink Chanel suit Jackie wore when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.
Her version featured dramatic red stains across the jacket, skirt, and stockings, drawing instant criticism online.
Fox later defended her outfit on Instagram, saying it wasn’t meant as a costume but as a “statement.”
“When her husband was assassinated, she refused to change out of her blood-stained clothes,” Julia wrote.
“Her decision was an act of extraordinary bravery, performance, protest, and mourning all at once. It’s about trauma, power, and femininity as resistance.”
In an interview with Vulture, Fox referred to the look as “Jackie O-Nasty,” describing it as “bloody diva, single mom who’s about to cash that check.”
While some praised the artistic message, others accused the actress of disrespecting a painful chapter in American history.
