When Buckingham Palace announced King Charles’ decision to remove Andrew’s “style, titles and honours” on October 30, news quickly followed that the former prince had also been ordered to vacate Royal Lodge, his longtime Windsor property.

Despite The Sun’s earlier report that the King’s younger brother had asked to move into Frogmore Cottage, another royal residence situated in Windsor, the Sandringham estate emerged as Andrew’s next destination.

What was once Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s home while they still lived in the UK, Frogmore was recently swamped by workers “day and night”, which led to speculations that the cottage was likely being prepared for the dishonoured royal. However, an expert is now revealing why that didn’t happen.

Cameron Walker, royal correspondent for GB News, explained, “I think it’s very telling that he’s being moved to a property on the Sandringham estate, because that’s owned privately by the Mountbatten Windsor family, which means no taxpayers are funding the property.”

Following backlash which resulted from the “peppercorn” rent at Royal Lodge and the former Duke of York’s 75-year long lease, it was probably thought best that he move into a residence which is “purely going to be funded by King Charles as the brother of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, so that is effectively as much as King Charles can do in that regard”, Walker further stated.

Moreover, it is understood that Andrew currently does not have access to state-funded security either, while his new home is three hours away from Windsor.

It is also crucial to highlight that Prince William and Kate Middleton will move into their new Windsor estate soon, which was also a factor in Andrew being banished from the area. Called Forest Lodge and located close to the ex-working royal’s former residence, a royal source previously shared that the Prince of Wales wanted his uncle “gone before they start to move in next week.”
