Meet Mrs. Beatles: Actresses confirmed for upcoming biopics on The Beatles
Saoirse Ronan, Aimee Lou Wood, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Anna Sawai join The Beatles films
The girls are all in — actresses who are set to play the equally famous wives of The Beatles have been cast for the highly anticipated four biopics of the influential rock band.
Saoirse Ronan will star as Linda Eastman (currently known as Linda McCartney), Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and the latest addition is Mia McKenna-Bruce, who will play Maureen Cox, according to Sony Pictures’ announcement on October 31.
While the actresses will be paired opposite the following leading men: Ronan with Paul Mescal’s Paul McCartney, Lou Wood with Joseph Quinn’s George Harrison, Sawai with Harris Dickinson’s John Lennon, and McKenna-Bruce with Barry Keoghan’s Ringo Starr.
Sam Mendes, the director who is helming the ambitious four-part feature film project, shared in a statement, “Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right – and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure.”
Tentatively titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, Mendes’ films will be released in cinemas April 2028, while each film will focus on one member of the acclaimed group.
