Cardi B’s ex Offset caught in fresh controversy amid ongoing legal woes

Cardi B’s ex-husband, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, has once again landed in fresh controversy, adding to his long list of public dramas.

In a shocking update, the 33-year-old rapper has been sued by a security guard.

According to the document obtained by TMZ, security guard Jim Sanchez filed a lawsuit alleging assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress against Offset.

The incident reportedly occurred during the musician’s visit to a MedMen cannabis dispensary near Los Angeles Airport, in March.

Jim claimed that Offset "became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face" when asked to show identification.

He also accused several others of joining in to "further assault and batter" him during the altercation.

The security guard alleged that he was eventually taken to a local hospital by paramedics after suffering severe head and neck pain.

In response to the claims, a representative for the father of six told the outlet that a dispensary guard rushed him and spat in his face during the argument over showing identification, denying that Offset initiated the violence.

The Open It Up singer is also facing a court judgment over an alleged assault at a Florida strip club, where two men accused him of attacking them in 2021.

Additionally, Offset has reportedly been hit with a new six-figure legal claim from the U.S. tax department, bringing his total unpaid tax bill to more than $2.3 million.

Previously, Cardi B had filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024 after six years of marriage.
