Benson Boone cancels Birmingham concert minutes before showtime due to throat issues
The pop star kicked off his 'American Heart World Tour' on Aug. 22
Benson Boone is putting his health first as he continues his American Heart World Tour.
The 23-year-old Beautiful Things singer announced on Saturday, Nov. 1, that he was forced to cancel his concert in Birmingham, England, less than an hour before he was set to perform at the Utilita Arena.
“I am so sorry but I will not be able to perform tonight,” Boone wrote on his Instagram Stories.
“I have tried everything I can to revive my voice, but I cannot give you the show I’d like to be able to give you with the condition of my throat right now.”
Calling it "the crappiest feeling," Boone assured fans he and his team are working to reschedule the show as soon as possible.
“I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you,” he added. “I’ll update you guys as soon as I can. Thank you for everything you do. I love you guys so much.”
The pop star, who kicked off his American Heart World Tour on Aug. 22, has been performing to sold-out crowds across Europe.
Known for his powerful vocals and high-energy performances, often including an on-stage backflip, Boone said earlier this year that this tour feels “vastly different than anything I’ve ever done before.”
As of now, no new date for the Birmingham show has been announced.
