King Charles' past royal concern about having a female heir has been exposed.
A newly released book by royal author and former correspondent named Valentine Row, as reported by Radar Online, claimed that King Charles III, who is father to two sons, was in a panic mode when he learned about Prince William and Kate Middleton were expecting their first child, fearing the future of the British monarchy if their infant was a girl, as reported by Radar Online.
While revealing the monarch’s true intentions, a source close to the royal household claimed, "Charles is known for thinking deeply about the monarchy's long-term survival."
When William and Kate announced their first pregnancy, the source stated, adding that the King was terrified that the monarchy could lose its identity.
“Charles repeatedly questioned what would happen if William's first child were a girl who eventually became monarch,” the book claimed, adding, “He was said to be particularly concerned about whether a reigning queen could legally pass on her husband's surname.”
The book also dished out that another source of anxiety for Charles of the possibility about a future queen marrying a Catholic as the insider claimed, "Charles understood how much the modern monarchy had evolved, but he also knew how delicate the balance is between tradition, religion, and constitutional law.”
According to the source, King Charles feared that one wrong move, a different name, or a religious conflict could erode public confidence in the crown itself.
