Prince William fears his children’s future is at risk without climate action
Prince William worries his children won’t enjoy same world he did
With the ongoing climate crisis, Prince William fears his children might grow up in a world with fewer opportunities than he had if the world doesn’t act fast to protect the planet.
The 43-year-old Prince of Wales is a proud father of three young royals, 12-year-old Prince George, 10-year-old Princess Charlotte, and seven year old Prince Louis, whom he shares with his wife Kate Middleton.
During his chat with Hello! Magazine ahead of this week’s Earthshot Prize Ceremony, he admitted that it’s the thought of his children’s future that keeps him motivated to take on the planet’s biggest environmental problems.
"As a father, I think constantly about the world my children will inherit,” William shared with the publication in their November 4, issue.
"I want them to grow up surrounded by nature, opportunity, and a sense of hope about the future."
Continuing, "But I also know that unless we act boldly now, that future is at risk."
Back in October 2020, the Prince introduced the Earthshot Prize to inspire and reward solutions that can help restore the planet within the next decade.
Set for Wednesday, November 5, the Earthshot Awards in Rio de Janeiro will also mark Prince William’s debut official trip to South America.
