Meghan Markle under fire after making a major mistake?
Meghan Markle's latest tutorial video sparks fans backlash
What was meant to be a simple tutorial led to backlash after an unexpected blunder was noticed by fans.
The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex demonstrated how she turns the $16 Spiced Cider Mulling Spice Kit from her brand As Ever into a really 'really cosy warm beverage that everyone can enjoy.'
The former actress then walked the viewers through the steps, with the first step being to boil water, then take it off heat, and allow the spices to steep and release their flavour.
She finished the drink by pouring it into glasses, then topping each glass with cinnamon sticks, lemon and teaspoon of her lifestyle brand’s $28 honey to further bring out the flavour.
Meghan noted that home cooks can add their choice of alcohol to make the drink "a little bit more grown up," but said it's most soothing without it, especially in the colder months.
However, it seems like this wasn’t well received by fans, as they went on to call the brew nothing more than "mulled water," and one even compared it to "air freshener in mugs."
Taking to X, formerly known as twitter, one user stated, "If I’m not mistaken, Meghan Markle just made mulled water? Wouldn’t you add the spices to apple cider? Or wine? Not WATER?"
"Looks like she was making a spicy tea because she has no idea of what she is really doing," another said.
"She creates a simmer pot and then serves it to guests as a beverage," a third wrote.
Another user remarked, "Keep in mind this is the same woman who was “teaching” us how to can food while holding the canning tongs upside down."
"Mulling spices are meant to augment a hot beverage like cider, wine, coffee, or tea. But then again, what should we expect from the person labelling tisanes as tea."
