Sean 'Diddy' Combs' special request gets shocking nod
Sean 'Diddy' Combs' new appeal takes dramatic turn
Sean "Diddy" Combs’ special request has taken a dramatic turn as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals has granted the rapper’s unopposed motion to expedite his appeal.
For the unversed, the 56-year-old rapper requested court for a speedy appeals process, which means his appeal will be heard on a faster track.
Now, according to NOISE11.COM, U.S. Circuit Court Judge Beth Robinson approved the music mogul' ask in a two-paragraph order.
Robinson, during the hearing, outlined a prospective appeals schedule. She said Combs' brief is due by December 23, the U.S. government's brief is due by February 20, and Combs' team's reply is due by March 13.
If that timeline holds, oral arguments will take place as early as April, according to the judge's order.
Moreover, Combs' lawyers are hoping to curtail the length of the fallen hip-hop mogul's time behind bars.
The disgraced musician applied for a quick appeal on the grounds that he could be close to getting out of prison by the time his case was heard if he was forced to follow the typical, drawn-out argument timeline.
For the unversed, the Bad Boy founder is challenging both his July conviction and the resulting four-year prison sentence for arranging "freak-offs".
Sean “Diddy” Combs is serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. He is scheduled to be released from prison on May 8, 2028.
